The ILCOR would like to invite you to take part in a Self-Assessment survey, where you Self-Assess your hospital on "10 Steps to Improve In-Hospital Cardiac Arrest" Outcomes.
Worldwide, cardiac arrest among hospitalised people of all ages is a high-risk event associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Therefore, the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) has identified 10 key steps that can lead to better patient outcomes and survival. These steps take a holistic approach and are designed to be embedded within a system of care that promotes preparation, prevention, performance and a culture of person-centred improvement.
1. Self-Assessment of Your Hospital Conduct a self-assessment of your hospital’s current level of the 10 steps. This assessment will help identify strengths, areas for improvement, and opportunities to enhance your hospital’s readiness and response to IHCA. The survey contains 50-101 questions and takes about 30 minutes to complete. We recommend that a team with knowledge about the pre-, intra- and post-arrest management collaborate. ➤ Click below to complete the self-assessment https://bit.ly/4l8XSEm
2. Participation in a Research Project Suppose you do the self-assessment above before 31st March 2026 and answer YES to question 8. (Do you give permission to use data for research as well as the development of toolkits?) and to question 101. (Would you like to receive the same survey again in 1, 3 and 5 years to follow improvements?), we will invite your hospital to participate in a research project aiming to follow the development of IHCA systems of care worldwide with follow-up assessment at 1 year, 3 years and 5 years. Your participation will contribute to a better understanding of global practices and support the development of evidence-based recommendations for implementation. The research project has been given ethical approval from the Swedish Ethical Review Authority, number 2025-03241-01.
This assessment form is intended for hospitals and will be best if filled out by an individual or group in charge of the resuscitation programme. The final submission date is March 31.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please reach out to abel.roland@erc.edu.
Thank you for participating. Your engagement is vital in shaping the future of IHCA care. |
